Memories & Candles
Dear Helen and Family,
It has taken me a bit to write but you have been in my thoughts and prayers. What a tough time J & B Plumbing and Heating - the first thing I said to my brother was there goes the J. Joe was a brave man starting out with the B - Butch but I am so proud of what they accomplished. Both men were very hard workers. I will always remember Joe's walk and how

I am sorry to hear about the loss of your dearest Joseph. My family and I wanted to send our deepest sympathy to you and your family. I wanted to share a comforting text found in God's Word at Isiah 25:8 where it says in part that death will be swallowed up forever. I hope that you and your family find this text comforting as it did me and my family.

In my very first job at Scheurer Hospital after college and military service , Joe and his team were always there to help. We had many enjoyable times together over lunch, telling each other "stories". Lots of laughs.
Through the years, whenever I returned to PIgeon and encountered Joe, we reminisced our times together. Joe was always interested in what I was doing and what I'd accomplished since leaving Scheurer Hospital.
As a very young and inexperienced person, I found Joe's

I worked with Joe at Huron Gas when we started at Maust grocery store in Pigeon. I know the story of driving the horses over the mountians. I called him the little wrangler and he called me that dad gum Luthern. I still have the scars on my arm from the time we chased a coon acrossed the road and up a tree. I climbed up the tree and shook it down for Joe to catch, when i started down

Dear Helen and family,
Extending my condolences on Joe's passing. I enjoyed the "story" of Joe in the obituary..lovely memories for your family. I also remember my last visit to Pigeon with my mom ,Nelda, (-likely her last visit as well) and a meal at your home There, I enjoyed meeting more of your family and listening to 'stories'. May these stories bring lasting memories and comfort during your times of sorrow as you reflect on Joe's well-lived life.

Dear Helen and Family,
I want to offer my warmest condolences to you in this time of loss. The Joe Ruby family has always figured large in my sense of extended family, and this has been fostered by the many visits back and forth across the border.
I know that my mother, Nelda, fondly anticipated any visit by Joe, Helen, Edith and Leon, Emma and Marie, and looked forward to those periodic trips to Pigeon to vist her much loved cousins. I

I remember my father Charles Benda introducing me to Joe over 40 years ago.
Joe had did some plumbing work for my father in our farm house.
Joe had always made sure he said hi whenever I would see him. Joe always had a smile.
My Condolances to the family. Gregg and Betsy Benda
